Hey Todd!
I was listening to the Network World 360 podcast yesterday. They were talking about a new way that rogue websites are installing malware on unsuspecting web surfers. It is called "ClickJacking". Apparently through scripting they are able to hover and invisible button under ones mouse pointer arrow. So no matter where you click on that website you click the invisible button. Numerous things things can happen such as giving permissions for camera & mics or installing any number of things on your system. They also said that Microsoft has known about this for some time. Just thought you could let your listeners be aware.
Be careful out there!
Love the show!!

His allergies are so bad, he even types with sinus problems. He says he will be "pack" tomorrow!
My friend Tim Sullivan runs the www.sellinggeek.com podcast and he did a special on Linkdin that may give you some answers. http://tinyurl.com/5pzs6a.
In the company I just left, signing up for Linkedin was a sure sign that you were fed up and looking for another job <grin>.
I think it is most useful if you are looking for a job, or need to build a network that you can sell to, or to use to hunt for prospects. Its sort of like the online version of joining your local chamber of commerce. Heed Tims warnings and be careful what you share.
Last I checked solar panels actually take more energy to manufacture than they can recover in their useful life. This gives a net 'energy deficit' each time one is made. In short, it is best to invest in something that is sustainable. I prefer locally owned wind farms. With wind farms we need to watch out for the foreign investment because that just sends our dollars overseas again. Locally owned keeps the money in the community and actually creates maintenance jobs. PBS has a great special on one company that is actually making this work. And the company that makes the wind machines opened a factory in the town to make the blades. It now employs 300 people and cuts down on the transportation costs.
You can rent E2: Energy from Netflix. Here is the website;

I've resisted joining LinkedIn and Twitter...I just don't need that many more things to keep an eye on, but one of my colleagues insisted I join LinkedIn.
So I did.
Now what? What's it for, what am I supposed to be doing with it, what will it help me do?
Congratulations on 400 shows, Todd! I'm only onboard more recently (around November last year) but to do 400 of anything is an outstanding effort. To do 400 podcast episodes not just at home but around various locations in the US is super outstanding.
I wonder what's Todd's episode count would be if he included all the various podcasts he has taken part in over the years?
Hi Mike,
I'm seeing a lot of buzz for the New Media Expo this year, it's just in some different places than in previous years:
We did a bit of an experiment with Twitter, and the profile we are using at the moment is http://twitter.com/TheNewMediaExpo
Pathable.com is partnering with us in providing attendee networking at http://pathable.com/events/nme08
The forums are starting to pick up over the last few days. They run on phpBB, which has become a spambots dream, so it has been very tough to keep the forums spam free, but we're working hard in doing so.
Meetups are starting to be posted on the wiki at http://newmediaexpo.pbwiki.com/
I've also seen quite a bit of activity on Twitter with this search feed: http://tinyurl.com/5ez2d6
Looking forward to seeing you all there.
Best Regards,
Emile Bourquin
New Media Expo
Its hard to tell I am hoping it has a bigger turn out of media creators.
Maybe its just me, but the new media expo seems a bit off this year. I'm not hearing much buzz, and the official website updates are even more sparse than in years past. The forums are a complete ghost town, the official twitter feed hasn't been updated in almost a month, and it never really amounted to much anyway. I hope attendance isn't too off this year, the expo had a good turn out last year and was a wealth of good information and lots of vendors.
